I don't know why (no, that's not true, I know why), I had a rough time late last night, and so I ended up on the phone chatting rather a long time...and then I tried to read a bit, and only ended up dozing off to the sounds of something by Brahams...
...Woke up in a tizzy this morning, not quite sure where I was, and with the alarm clock screaming at me that it was waaaay past time for me to get up...Oh, and by the way...though it's often tempting to do so...don't completely bladderbust with the water before you go to sleep, unless you've been drinking...or are dehydrated...cuz, WOAH NELLY...
Grandma was still coming down from a mad sugar high, with DANGEROUS glucose/blood sugar levels (425 at 4am!), and was walkin' around trying to get her head on straight. Mom groaned when I asked her to move the car, cuz she'd been up since grandma woke her up to give her another shot (I'd done so before I went to bed at like 2 or something). Bad news, but she is okay now, I only wish she'd get her sugar under control.
Jammed to work despite the freakin' idiots on the road, who always manage to turn a 10-15 minute drive into a 20-35 minutes of commuter pain in the arse. I was delightfully reminded that the owner, Dr. Singh was going to take us down to Shoreline Village to Parker's Lighthouse for our annual Christmas Lunch. All you can stand to order, nothing barred, and he includes beer. Alas, I declined, cuz well, I was tired this morning. And I was saving my liver for tonight.
Dr. Singh thanked us, for a change, for doing a job well done, and told us how much he "appreciated all that you do for the company, and that you do for me. I'm glad that you are all part of my life, and this is just a small thanks to that effect!" Nice sentiment, but...yeah...anyrate, he declared that we should do the luncheon thing more often, since he would like to celebrate that we are all still there, since we only seem to go out when someone quits. Hurm.
Anyrate, I managed to stuff myself silly on seafood and spicy pseudo cajun shrimp and sausage (I have a feeling I broke several Kosher laws today...not that I'm keeping kosher, but you know what I mean), and a bottomless lemonade.
And then I drove the long way back to work. And still beat the boss back. Jeesh.
Managed to finish out the day, even though one of our "favorite" attorneys decided to call at five minutes till five with a rush request...bah...but yeah, I shall survive...
...and tonight, I shall survive the drive, and then get my swerve on...I shall rock the night away, with Dave, Erika, Diana, possibly Melissa, and if Mel, then the Poe Posse, and DJ Liz and Carlos. Good people, I say...good folk, and good fun. Much needed right now.
And then a day, and then a drive to San Jose to see the Sharks, and, hopefully, some other folks, who are far, far more important to me...even if I don't get to tell them that as much as I'd like.
