Jan. 18th, 2004 04:38 pmLast night was a good time. A really good time. Got to connect with lots of folks, got to dance a good little dance, and got hit on a couple of times. Good for me.
Though, I must say, why issit that whenever I plan on strictly dancing my ass off, folks wanna see me drunk (I only had two last night, SOBER!!!!), or the girls wanna come up and freak me? I mean, not that I'm against getting freaked, but when I'm actually in the zone dance wise, and not looking at my sexiest, it's suddenly "Wow! You have really fucking hot moves! I want to dance with YOU!" Thrice last night this happend. Right in the middle of songs that I traditionally dance all by my lonesome and get down.
Dave says that those are the times that I need to change my priorites. Perhaps.
got to meet up (albeit briefly) with
wildpaletz's friend Piers, who has a better grasp on the LA public transit system than most of us who've lived here our whole lives. Amazing. Never seen anyone able to not only get to a club 30 miles from where he lives, on the bus, but be able to get home via one bus. Amazing. Nice guy that Piers. Must talk with more. Introduce him to the fine holes in the walls that are all over.
There were many of the good folks about, friends, and new friends, and folks that I haven't gotten to see in ages. Far too many to list, and I think that they know who they are. Needless to say, I was happy to see them, even though I wasn't able to speak with them as much as I'da liked to. Good luck kids.
Got home in one piece, got to bed (after a long talk with Mom about life, dancing and the pursuit of Pooooonannnny!), and then woke up in time to watch the commentary on Swingers. Freaking great movie, which I cannot stress enough. Insightful, funny, and real to what is going on in most of the 20-30 something-hollywood-LA life.
Then I hung blinds for the grandma, looked into the jungle that is my backyard, and realized that the world today is brighter than it was yesterday. It is green, and calm, and generally okay. And that's the way I like it. Okay.
And with Okay, I get better, and with better, I get...well, let's just wait to see where that gets us.
