antoniusrex: (Ani-Me)
Actually woke up before noon the last two days, and darn if that isn't wonderful. Even if it *was* telemarketers and wrong numbers waking my slackin' ass up.

Gut up semi-moving yesterday, and went out and ran errands--which included getting my watch fixed and some random window shopping. (Malls are an interesting place, I think. Full of people (even at 1 in the afternoon), all of which are strange, and neat, and fascinating in their own right. But why are there so many damn kids running around through Hot Gothic, and the T-Shirt Shops and the bookstores. Isn't school in session or something? Whichever.

Found a Chatchki store that had--get this--scaled down version of the tacky "Leg Lamp" from "A Christmas Story." It glows, and has the tassles and everything. I came *this* close to buying it...

Turned another corner of the mall and walked smack dab into a new store which will never survive, but damn if it wasn't neat: Sword In The Stone. It kinda wrenched my attention from everything else. Swords. Swords. Swords, swords, swords EVERYWHERE. And everything reasonably priced. And most of it on sale. I thought I was going to bust a spleen or something. Sure, some of it was cheap (and I think a little illegal in California), but AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Three piece Katana sets, broadsword, shortsword, and tonto for $55 including the stand! Wonderfully weighted, balanced, and swept hilts for UNDER $60 bucks--and then another 5-15% off! All sorts of Lord Of The Rings stuff--helmets, swords, staffs--and shinai, and practice swords and...and...and...

I was calm. And I carefully commented on their pricing, asked for a card and walked out. I'm okay. YOu're okay. Okay? Okay.

Made a phonecall or two trying to track folks down, but no one answered. Go figure. Drove up to LA anyway to see if Justin were about, but as usual he didn't answer his phone, and the Dogs weren't being too kinda about letting me through the gate. So I just kinda kept on going.

Ducked into this surplus store on Santa Monica and Vine that's been bugging me when driving to Underground. Not the best selection, and waaaaaaaay overpriced for a surplus store. I'm keeping my business down here in Bellflower and San Pedro. Better stores with better prices. And not as scary clientelle.

Dropped by Melissa's ([livejournal.com profile] pussycatmeow), and we got caught up on relationships, flakiness, "the olden days," on her boy, common friends, money situations, business plans (she's a talented seamstress who's trying to get a clothing line off the ground) and ex's. Good times over good mexican food and beer.

Drove around Hollyweird calling to see who else was around, since I was in that neck of the woods. Talked to Maggie for a hot sec (after rounds and rounds of phonetag), but she was hitting a show at the Echo...at 10, so no hang out there. chatted with Kumi ([livejournal.com profile] kumimonster), who is in town for the weekend for wrap up on the sequel to Triple X and shooting with photogs. I figured she might be able to go to Club Perversion, but no go. She was having dinner with William Defoe. Damn, that girl gets around.

So I just jetted on home jamming with Carina Round blasting through my stereo.

Melissa had loaned me a couple of movies that she had that I really oughtta had seen (I have a long list, go figure), including "Secretary" which I've been wanting to see for ages, but just haven't...

O.M.G. Fucking loved it. And have never been so aroused by someone eating peas. Or typos. What a thoughtful, erotic, provocative, coming-of-age love story. With a little bit of kink. With a whole lot of kink.

Right. Now off to have lunch with Dave, hang out with Anna ([livejournal.com profile] vsprtn), then come back home and pretend I'm a plumber (again), followed by too much dancing and not enough drinking at Underground.

Man. I'm boring.
