Semi-prolific brain purge
Feb. 3rd, 2005 12:08 amWe'd just left from LAX from picking up Lan from the airport, and Jason and I were sitting in the back seat looking out on the traffic on the 405. Alex drove and chatted with Lan while I interjected from time to time and Jason through out wonderful insights on everything.
Traffic was moving, as LA traffic sometimes does on a Saturday night. We were heading north, back towards Alex's place to drop off Lan's gear at his apartment, and to switch out cars so I could pile into mine.
The plan was this: Get into our two cars, drive up Santa Monica Blvd., over to Sunset and down to the Cat and Fiddle for drinks, food, and scene. We were discussing such when we looked over at the carpool lane.
"Look! It's a Segway!"
There was a Segway on the back of a car, hooked onto a Segway sized, would be bike rack. Segway rack.
"One of those ride on things?"
"Yeah."
"Wow, I don't think I've ever seen one."
"Wait, there are two of them on there..."
"No, there are three! One's in the hatchback."
"Dude, look at the car! It's a Hybrid!"
"I saw that!"
"A Hybrid in the carpool lane carrying three Segways. That has got to be the most Californian thing I've ever seen."
"No kidding."
The four of us eyed the strange site as we merged onto the 10 freeway, which was unremarkably free of further oddities.( More tales from Anthony's brainpan... )
Listening to you,
I get the music.
Gazing at you,
I get the heat.
Following you,
I climb the mountains.
I get excitement at your feet.
Right behind you,
I see the millions.
On you,
I see the glory.
From you,
I get opinions.
From you,
I get the story...
I drove off into a new day, the sun warming the summer sky.
