Sept 29, 2005...

4:01 p.m. Bri Bri and Nellie greeted their daughter Lillian into their lives. Their first. And a really bright moment for the new Dad.
Baby Babble and whatnot... )
After such a wonky week, I needed that moment...that wonderful sight and sound. Of a new life. And what a weird feeling, knowing that I started this really funky week out with seeing death up close. And now seeing new life up close.

What a week...and Friday still looms yet...

Yurg.

Went to bed rather later than I'd expected, or wanted and then managed to not get quality sleep. It's too hot in my house, even with the A/C running. It's like that stucco bastard is holding heat. Yeowch.

Still managed to get up mad early, and still run late. I left the house with plenty of time, since I had to be in San Dimas to cover an event for a client, and managed to sit in traffic, which ate up all my leeway.

Got there late, and realized that there was no film in the camera, so I had to chase around for a store where there's nothing but industrial area and schools for like 3 miles. Fortunately, I found it pretty quick, but managed to miss all the really important folks I needed to take pictures of.

They were throwing a positive message assembly with muscle men....you know the ones, where they tell kids "don't do drugs! Do well in school! Stay outta gangs! Be good to your neighbors and hold onto your dreams!" and then proceed to rip a phone book in half, bend a steel rod in half and then pick up two kids and standing press them over their heads without flinching.

The camera acted up and wouldn't focus or flash without me tricking it. I missed some great shots. Got some decent ones. And managed to feel really embarrassed in front of a bunch of 8th graders, just out of the sheer fact that I was standing and sitting next to them, but was different, and having issues with something.

Though they couldn't have cared less, I suddenly felt really nerdy. And not unlike I did in elementary school when I got bagged on (remember that word?) for wearing dress shoes with my catholic school uniform. But then I remembered that I'm on a first name basis with their principal, and the superintendent, and actually know what to do if say, Charisma Carpenter fell out of the sky, into my lap. And I stood up and walked to the back of the room where the cute assistant principal was standing, and suddenly all those 8th graders seemed really babylike. Weird. but good.

Left from there, after getting some good giggles from the good jokes those big guys told, and then parked and then had my head nearly explode. Pressure behind the eye, dizzyness soreness on my neck and the back of my head and nausia.

Migraine? Probably.

I've barfed twice already, and there's no food on my stomach, save for the three chocolate chip cookies that I scarfed down right quick.

Thump thump thump, is my head right now. And I'd like to just finish up this work and not hurl anymore. Would be nice.

This weekend will be full. Too full, and I'll still not get everything done I need and want to do. Too much to do, and no time to do it in.

Life is fun this way, yes.
