The alarm clock rang a little before 6am this morning, which hurt particularly bad, as I'd only gone to bed at 12:45 or so--which was exacerbated by my waking up at 2am...and 4am...and 5am...

Got up in a hurry, and thankfully, I'd already put my clothes out for the day, so getting dressed, cleaned up, shaved and all that good stuff took even less time than usual. Joined mom in the car and zoomed off towards Cerritos to drop her off for an off-site event which she was running today.

There would be no simple navigation to the freeway after dropping her off to work, as has been the case for the last three (geez!) weeks.

After stumbling to the 91 freeway, I managed to creep through traffic to the 57, towards San Dimas. I cursed traffic most of the way; in between calling the big rig driver on my left variations on a fornicator of pigs, I flicked on the seat warmers to knock out some of the am chill (my mom's car has all sorts of interesting luxuries and gadgets. I shall fear the world if I ever find the button for the ejector seat).

I made the transition onto the I-10 east, and was getting off on my usual exit when the phone rang.

"Hello. This is Anthony."
"Hello! this is Mary from S---- Auto!"
"Oh! Hi Mary. What's the news?"
"Just letting you know that we're waiting for a lamp to come in this morning, and as soon as it is, we'll install it. Your car should be ready by 2pm today."
"Oh, that's great news!"

I get my car back today! YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWW!!! I'm so excited and happy that if I weren't so dang burned tired right now I'd be running around the office like a maniac.

I could use a little mania right now. I have a lot of work, and very little energy or self-motivation to do it. I've been pawing at it for the past week, and yesterday, and I'd really like to just get it all done. It's not overwhelming in scope, nor is it all that difficult, per se. I'm just burnt out and whiped. I'm in dire need of a good vacation.

Oh, Point Roberts, Washington, how I miss thee.

Perhaps I should go in search of some Mountain Dew, Coke or Coffee...or, to Marc's ([livejournal.com profile] thrasymachos) horror, some interesting mixture of all three...with sugar and cream...I'm thinking it will be a Mountain Dew and Twinkies afternoon.

In the meantime, I need to dig down and find the same energy that used to keep me on the go-go box for 5 hours straight, stay out all night, and then get up and play back to back games of iron man hockey.

Go! Fight! Win! Car! yaaaaaay Mountain Dew!

I got my car back! I got my car back! Ain't that just awesome! I got my car back! yaaaaay!

I gotta say, I love how the original little dent/scratch thing on the door is still there, but the rest of the car is beautifully waxed and painted. It's funny, actually.

But the door no longer squeeches when I open it, so, rockit!
