This week has been long...which has included me going into work a couple of days to do stuff--take photos, try and work on some stuff, and then working on an impromptu project for the Boss lady (which has become a small bane due to clients and client's partners...grrrr...)
BUT
I've had a wonderful time with the family. We've spent the last three days not killing each other and just enjoying the love (of which there is a lot).
Thursday night we ended up staying in and watching--wait for it--R. Kelly's Trapped in A Closet. Either that man is the dumbest guy on earth, or a freaking GENIUS. Funniest, most addicting stupid stuff ever. It was awesome. Bad, but awesome. Laugh out loud funnier than I dunno what.
Rent it. Or borrow it. Either way, make sure to see the episode where the midget, who's in love with Bridgit shows up. I snarfed. Mom almost choked. Grandma thought she peed herself.
We went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on Friday. What a great flick. They got it right. Though...there's a couple of things that I just hafta go ummm on...basically just needed about *inf* more on the relationship between Aslan and the Kids...I just needed more before the big moment, as it were.
We watched one of our favorite Christmas movies for the 24th--Die Hard. That's right, it's a *Christmas* movie. Watch it again, and you'll get it. Though we didn't get to it, we almost watched another great Christmas favorite--Lethel Weapon. Seriously...it's a Christmas movie...
Around midnight, we did what the three of us do on Christmas when we spend the time together--we remembered the Reason for the Season, read from the Book of Luke in the New Testament--the Story of Jesus's Birth--and then from John 3:16--to remind ourselves why his birth is so important: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton son, so that whosoever believe in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
Then we exchanged the few gifts that we bought this year. It rocked. Grandma really loved her gifts. And then we all celebrated again by watching OLIVER! until the weeeeee hours of the morning...and then collapsed at something like 4amish.
Woke up today, and had a whole buncha wonderful food cooked by Mom. Stuffed again. And happy.
Family is good. Both those that you're born (or adopted) into. And those members of your family who you find, or who find you.
To all of my family, both born and found, I send my love. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukka.
