Oh, what a night!
Jul. 12th, 2003 01:48 pmWow.
After the unfortunate news that my party partner for the night
ohsoeurodisco was having the day from hell that kept her from joining me I called some of everone to see if I could get someone to take the ticket. No such luck.
Rolled up to The Palace at 6pm, and jumped in line. To my luck, there were scalpers, and I sold my ticket for $25. Yay me. Only lost $5, and used it to get my t-shirt.
Though this weird stroke of luck, I managed to actually find
europopkid in the midst of everything, and though he left a good deal later than I, he managed to get like four people from the stage, and dead center. So I pushed my way in to meet up with.
The opening band went on, and it was...um, okay...They came out strong and hardcore, and I was like "Rock" and then they just kinda went downhill. Still, nice guys...I'll go into that later...
And then...Steve, Stefan, and Brian strolled out on stage. WOW. Amazing. Hour and a half of pounding, sing along, shout along, sweat, power, music mayhem, and mosh type sweat.
I lost
europopkid in there, and lost about 10 pounds of water weight. OMFG. Amazing. Amazing.
Afterwards, I chilled with my friend Laurie afterwards, and she was all about staying to see if we could meet Brian.
Having cute friends who are girls is to your advantage. She saw the opening band, Ambulance, and like smiled, and said "can we have your wrist bands?" and he was like "For you, anything, cutie!" And proceeded to pop his off. And then the whole band was like "Yeah, for you cutie, anything! You dude, you take care of her!" and we were full of wristbands!
We strolled backstage, and when you have them things on, they really don't care. We walked all over the backstage in The Palace. On the stage. Upstairs, downstairs to the green room, and back up again. Stefan was there! Steve was there! Laurie took pictures, we talked to them both, and it was very awesome. VERY.
Afterwards I hauled ass over to Underground. I was SOOOO dehydrated. And icky with wet shirt (as was Laurie, and some of everyone else. Brian was fucking dripping on stage. It was Hot in Derre). So I traded up and put on my newly bought and DRY concert shirt. Amazing what you can do while you're driving :-)
Anyrate, got to the club, and managed to catch up with
ohsoeurodisco, who was already happy when I got there :-) And everyone kept asking me "Who's that hot chick...the one with the blond hair that you were just talking to there?" And I was like, "That's Lauren." and then they were like "She's sooo hot!" and I was like "What? You think that I can't know hot girls?"
Well, I danced, and danced, and drank a crapload of water, and talked with a bunch of people's. It was good. Wonderful. Wonderful. I was soooo pumped up on adrenaline, and happy, and dehydration, I was happy and happy, and bouncy, and hyper!
And then I hung with a couple of happy fun folks for a bit, and then had breakfast at Canters over good conversation, and then made it home. Late. I think it was something like 5am.
Yeah.
But a GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT night. Yes. Good.
