Anthony vs. The End of A Year

There is a saying: May you live in interesting times. This is a really wonderful curse. Because it is a little bit of a curse and little bit of a blessing. Because, really, who wants to live in boring times? Good times, yes, but there needs to be ups and downs all around, right? Keeps it alive and allows us to better ourselves. But damn...who wants to have ups and down, right?
This year has been a roller coaster of ups and downs. And interesting times. I won't go so far as to say that 2006 sucked, but it was...full of interesting surprises. Some not all for the best. Some that shone like well polished diamonds under the brightest of sunny days. Some glittered like gold and others blinked dull like dross.
Some have been insanely great, in horrible ways. I know that may not makes sense, but it's true.
But, at least for my part, I like the roller coaster. Though it's sucked for many. But, for me I hope that it never changes, the up and down of the roller coaster ride.
So, I wish to you all: That you may live in interesting times. Though I may wish everyone has more ups than downs. Many more ups.
Here's to an interesting year's passing. Here's to the birth of an interesting new year.
Happy New Year to all.

Date: 2007-03-16 05:40 am (UTC)Added you to my flist. Greetings from a hockey-lovin' Edmonton-born Kansas Citian with deep family ties to Yale. You look like my kinda guy. Ran across you via FOAFOAF.
What takes a Yale-educated Californian to Canada, anyweh?
2007 is indeed going to be interesting in many ways. Has been so far, too. Job, Life, looking forward to interesting times.
